Independent developer Bas Meijer has released Read4Me 1.6.2 for Mac OS X. Read4Me started as a simple text editor designed for speech, to catch errors beyond the spell checker. Users can easily proof read with audio, create voice-over tracks for presentations, and even create AudioBooks to listen to on the road. Now it includes a tagging palette to change voices, or speed, and to tune the speech synthesis. OS X Lion's voices are available in 27 languages, other vendors provide even more choice.
