"I am a father of 2 young children living in the UK, explained Philip Atherton, developer of Woodland Preschool. "I have noticed that my son picks up a lot of knowledge and manual dexterity from the apps and media he uses. As an illustrator and someone who enjoys seeing his kids learn, I decided to make a cute little app that would educate in a friendly and encouraging way. I built the app from scratch and illustrated it. I also provided the audio. It is entirely a one man labor of love. It currently has four sections of play and an achievement page to record progress and rewards. Purchasers of the app will get all the future updates and expansions included in the original price. I already have 2 more sections in production."

There is an achievements page where your child will gather stars that they have earned by playing the games. Games are inspired by the Montessori system of education with children learning independently and by discovery.
"Having supervised my son using a large number of kid's apps, I have noticed that ads are simply too easy for a child to click, this navigates them away from the content that they are meant to be viewing and into unknown, third-party content," continues Atherton. "Kids like to learn and turning it into a game really engages them and helps them to develop. This is something I am passionate about and I enjoy having the opportunity to help kids learn."
