Dec 20, 2012 - According to a recent survey of IT professionals by the Enterprise Device Alliance, management software implementations in large organizations are lagging the IT departments' increasing security concerns. IT administrators are concerned about the race between demand for access and security threats. This survey asked IT to comment on the issues and indicate how their organization was dealing with these challenges.

Oct 25, 2012 - The members of the Enterprise Device Alliance (EDA) today announced support for Apple's iOS 6.0 operating system software in enterprise environments. Using these solutions will ease the deployment, integration and management of Apple mobile devices. These solutions address issues such as endpoint management - Absolute Software; identity and access management - Centrify; multi-platform file access, synching and sharing - GroupLogic, an Acronis company; and desktop virtualization - Parallels.

Jul 31, 2012 - The Enterprise Device Alliance today announced support for Mac OS X 10.8, Mountain Lion operating system software in enterprise environments by the EDA member companies. Each member of the Enterprise Device Alliance provides products that allow organizations to leverage their existing investment in Windows management and administration infrastructure to manage both Mac and iOS systems as well as help organizations transition from current and previous versions of Mac OS X to Mountain Lion.

May 16, 2012 - Trams has joined the Enterprise Device Alliance to help further the organizations goal of making it easy to deploy, integrate and manage Macs, iPhones and iPads in a Windows environment. Trams will co-host a range of EDA programs, including a June 19 luncheon for IT professionals and a webcast of industry experts from the EDA and WindowsITPro exploring the challenges and solutions for integrating, securing and managing personally owned (BYOD) devices into Windows environments.

Jan 17, 2012 - The Enterprise Device Alliance today announced that Parallels, a worldwide leader in hosting and cloud service enablement and desktop virtualization for the enterprise, is the newest member of the alliance. By joining the EDA, Parallels brings cross-platform virtualization and cloud services to the suite of mobile, desktop and server solutions that the EDA represents. Demonstrations are available for Mac Enterprise Edition and Parallels Mobile at the upcoming MacIT conference in San Francisco.

Jan 10, 2012 - By joining the Enterprise Device Alliance, CrashPlan creator, Code 42, has extended the categories of cross-platform integration that the EDA represents to include multi-destination, cross-platform backup onsite, offsite and online. Code 42 developed CrashPlan software - personal backup and enterprise disaster recovery solutions that support Mac, Windows, Linux, and Solaris computers and the iOS, Android, and Windows Phone mobile operating systems.

Dec 14, 2011 - The member companies of the Enterprise Device Alliance (EDA) today announced their support for Apple's iOS 5 in enterprise environments. The member companies are committed to providing support for iPhones and iPads that use iOS 5 in enterprise and business deployments with a Windows IT infrastructure. Enterprise-class organizations can now use solutions from the members of the Enterprise Device Alliance to leverage their Microsoft Windows IT environments to provide file access to iOS devices.

Nov 30, 2011 - A survey conducted by the Enterprise Device Alliance revealed that IT administrators believe that the challenge of securing mobile devices is the largest impediment to acceptance by enterprises. 54% of the respondents replied that preventing access to sensitive data from unauthorized users is the top concern slowing adoption smartphones and tablets for enterprises. Other survey results reveal buying plans, impacts of mobile devices on IT management, and attitudes toward BYOD in organizations.
