The Burmese city contains over 2,000 magnificent Buddhist temples, pagodas, and stupas of all sizes. 25 square miles in size, vibrant, color pictures reveal thousand-year-old temples and pagodas built only a few hundred feet apart. The app includes hundreds of HD photos in seven chapters, Wikipedia links for additional information, a thumbnail gallery of each chapter, maps of Burma and Bagan, a Favorites Library, and tips on travel and hotels.

Myanmar (Burma) is located between India to the west, and China and Thailand to the east. The Bay of Bengal and the Andaman Sea border it to the south. Bagan is in central Myanmar, about 300 miles north of Rangoon in the Mandalay division. The app's Introduction states, "Created in 849 AD with the union of 19 villages, Bagan is the old capital of the kingdom of Pagan. At the time of its splendor (1044 - 1287), half a million inhabitants were living in the first capital of the Burmese Empire." The Introduction contains captioned photos which illustrate, "A land covered by 2,000 temples, each of them over 800 years old, some 20 feet high - others as tall as a cathedral, protected by giant golden Buddhas, near a sacred river, this is Bagan, the ancient city of 2,000 temples."

Asia Treasures - Bagan contains seven chapters: New Bagan Village, Irrawaddy River, Thanatar Gate Hotel, Bagan Temples, Bagan People, Bagan Hotel, and Old Maps. The app functions in both portrait and landscape orientations, and has two modes of operation. In standard mode a translucent menu bar remains onscreen, which contains the Favorites, Menu, Map, Diaporama, and Gallery buttons, as well as the title of each chapter and a Wikipedia link. Photos remain onscreen indefinitely and the swipe gesture moves the viewer forward or backward. Users may zoom in by means of the standard two-finger spread gesture. In Diaporama (diorama + panorama) mode the menu bar disappears, and each chapter is displayed as a slide show, with photos onscreen 5 seconds each.
