[prMac.com] Seven Fields, Pennsylvania - Convershakn, LLC, announces the release of its first interactive family entertainment app for iPhones, iPods, and iPads that helps families improve their communication. In the car, on a walk, waiting in line, waiting for a table for a meal at a restaurant, or simply at home anytime, Convershakn generates age and gender-specific questions about school, friends, values, goals, faith and many other topics.
President of Convershakn LLC, Rick Hangliter, identified a need in his own life to have more purposeful conversations with his three sons in the car instead of allowing the miles to pass in relative silence as his sons played games on their iPods. Hangliter states, "It is very important to me to raise young men of honor, conviction, and integrity. Replacing the silence during car rides and dinner with meaningful conversations has made a big difference in our family. I am certain that other parents are troubled by these missed opportunities to truly listen to their children about things that really matter".
The app is very flexible, as you can use it with one child or groups of children. Parents can decide to ask random questions of their children across all of the topics, or focus on a given subject and penetrate deeper into their thoughts, feelings, and beliefs. Several hundred questions in the app are divided into topics including activities, character, family, faith, money, goals, and fitness, as well as others.
While there are other question and answer games on the market, Convershakn focuses on the character and values development of the child. Designing the shake feature into the application integrates the child's interest in technology with the parental need for meaningful interaction with children. If a parent does not possess an iPhone or iPod touch, the child's device is a great place for Convershakn to reside.
One early use of Convershakn is Chris Schueller of Adams Township, PA. "Our family loves Convershakn", said Schueller. "The questions are thought provoking and have sparked some deep and meaningful conversations with our three young boys," he adds. The boys like the game-like feel of the app. "They are excited to see what question will pop up, and that keeps them engaged", Schueller said.
Hangliter anticipates that Convershakn will be adopted and recommended by youth and children ministry leaders who share the passion of shaping the next generation of leaders. "Youth leaders have significant influence in the lives of teens and their families, and the parents look toward these ministry leaders for insights into improved parenting", he states.
For parents, Convershakn tracks the questions asked of each child and tells the parent on what date each topic was last explored together. If a parent does not care to discuss one of the many topics, he or she can simply disable that topic in the profile settings.
