[prMac.com] Riga, Latvia - Allwards Laboratory is proud to announce version 2 of DeepInside 2.
Default OS X tools for browse and search files are perfect and quite effective for 90% of everyday tasks but have substantial limitations when you like to get access to system or hidden information.
DeepInside 2 is the application for browsing and searching files over all file system, including hidden and special areas. If you are software developer or just enthusiast who likes no know more about OS X (FreeBSD) file system, DeepInside 2 is your choice!
A well-designed and comprehensive search tool, DeepInside 2 for Mac easily locates any hidden and system files and folders on Mac OS X. It is completely re-designed version with interface, which is intuitive, and ability to comprehensively search a computer are a step above other, similar applications.
The program's well-designed installer walks the user through the process, with little input needed. The program's interface is similarly well-rendered, making it easy to use for those familiar with Spotlight and Finder windows. A sidebar on the left displays the available disks and large folders. Selecting them brings up a browser in the middle where the contents are displayed.
Right sidebar is very similar to Finder's get info panel, but shows all information about selected file-system resources immediately. You can browse any file system folder and filter results using name wildcard or regular expressions. Filtering also available in search results.
DeepInside 2 allows to start two concurrent search jobs. First based on direct search in file system using wide set of search criteria, such as sizes in bytes, dates of creation and modification, POSIX permissions and even Finder color tags. The second one is search using OS X Spotlight. In addition, DeepInside for Mac allows to make quick compare of two or more files or folders in order to check if they are the same.
Many programs exist for locating hidden files, but most just allow them to be shown as a whole, without any accompanying search features. DeepInside 2 for Mac's comprehensive viewing capabilities make it a more useful tool, especially for advanced users such as programmers and software developers. And... finally... version 2.0 contains ability to integrate with any external hex file viewer/editor!
