[prMac.com] College Station, Texas - JBMJBM, LLC is pleased today to introduce iZones 1.0, their graphical reference to and calculator of all the world's time zones, exclusively for the iPad. Ideal for the world traveler or international businessman, iZones graphically displays the current, past, or future time anywhere in the world, in dozens of cities simultaneously. International time can be challenging because each country maintains its own standard time which may or may not coincide with other countries in the same time zone.
The app opens in an innovative, scrollable stack view of time zones which can are put into UTC time order. Each of the time zone rows are thin horizontal titled windows, and divided from left to right into three cells: yesterday, today, and tomorrow. For example, the first window may be titled "America/Chicago UTC-5." And from left to right it is divided into June 9, 10, and 11. Or an identical window may be labeled "Central Standard Time UTC-5", again divided in three. (UTC-5 represents a 5-hour offset from atomic-based Coordinated Universal Time, formerly GMT, or Greenwich Mean Time).
Once the user has selected the time zone windows horizontally that the user desires to view, he is free to drag the vertical blue PM rule through all the windows simultaneously. The exact time is displayed for the current and seven displayed time zones. Similarly, the user may drag the vertical green AM rule to see the exact time displayed for the current and additional stacked time zones.
* World time display and calculator
* Choose from over 80 time zone windows, plus Daylight Savings Time
* Compare AM and PM times simultaneously across international and local time zones
* Displays UTC Coordinated Universal Time as well as GMT Standard Time
* References over 270 major cities
* User can add time zones time zones according to his preference
There are more than 80 time zone windows which can be activated from the selectable Available Time Zones screen, and they update automatically for Daylight Saving Time. North America includes 7 different zones from Newfoundland to Hawaii, Africa 4 different zones from Cape Verde to Uganda, South America 11 zones from Easter Island to Argentina, Asia 14 zones from Bhutan to Kamchatka, Australia 4 zones from Adelaide to the Admiralty Islands, Europe 6 zones from Iceland to Samara, the Atlantic 4 zones from the Azores to Aruba, and more.
Over 270 major cities are referenced (including the International Space Station), simplifying the process of finding time zones. Local and national time zones may differ from international time zones. For example, India is 5.5 hours ahead of GMT, parts of Afghanistan and Australia also offset by half hours, and China (covering 5 international time zones) is the same time everywhere in the country. iZones simply and automatically displays the correct local time anywhere around the globe, and does it both graphically and numerically.
"We are extremely proud of the distinctive GUI developed for iZones," commented company CEO Brice Milliorn. "If you need a world clock for your iPad this is the one, and if you don't this is a spectacular app to show off your iPad."
