Lida Tang, a former video game developer, started working with Flash and streaming applications in 2008 with the goal of starting his own company. While he was in the midst of coding several product prototypes, Lida identified a very prevalent problem for mobile device users.

"July 20, 2009 was the 40th anniversary of the moon landing, and there was an interactive website We Choose the Moon that provided realtime playback of the event. I couldn't access the video on the iPhone when I saw its live stream on twitter."

Frustrated, he investigated the issue further. "Steve Jobs just doesn't like Java and Flash, even though 75% of web video content is coded in Flash", remarks Mr. Tang. "So these formats are disabled in iOS."

Rather than wait for Apple to accept Flash and Java in iOS, or for HTML 5 to gain widespread prevalence (which could take years), Mr. Tang took matters into his own hands and developed a simple solution. He designed Cloud Browse to let mobile web surfers initiate a full desktop Firefox browser session on secure remote servers.

CloudBrowse is the first in a series of planned applications. Future consumer cloud products will incorporate screen sharing, and a robust suite of options for enterprise users. The company is seeking to develop revenue share and other white label co-marketing partnerships as well.
