Nosy Crow drops the price of its apps to low price for World Book Day

[prMac.com] New York and London - Independent children's app publisher Nosy Crow is celebrating World Book Day on March 1 with a price drop for all of its apps to $0.99/ 0.69/ Euro0.79, for one day only.

In honour of World Book Day, which is marked in over 100 countries across the world, and in the UK has the primary aim of encouraging children to explore the pleasures of reading, the multi award-winning Cinderella, The Three Little Pigs and Bizzy Bear on the Farm apps will all be available on iTunes for the new price for one day.

"With apps playing a larger part in children's literacy and involving young people in a more diverse range of reading experiences, we felt like this was the right way to celebrate World Book Day," said Tom Bonnick, Digital Project and Marketing Manager at Nosy. "We've received so much positive feedback from parents, speech therapists, teachers and other professionals on our apps and how they contribute to children's increased engagement with and enjoyment of reading and storytelling."

"Children are spending more and more time on screens. We believe that it's important for us as publishers to encourage children's to read by creating reading experiences that are at least as much fun as anything else they do on screens," says Kate Wilson, Managing Director of Nosy Crow. "At Nosy Crow, we're creating a new kind of compelling reading experience that is interactive and multimedia, not just a book squashed onto a phone."

World Book Day is now in its fifteenth year and in 2012 will have its own app for the first time, featuring short stories by authors including Neil Gaiman, Anthony Horowitz and Charlie Higson.

About the apps:
Nosy Crow's Bizzy Bear on the Farm, Cinderella, and The Three Little Pigs apps are available on the iTunes App Store for iPad, iPhone and iPod touch (compatibility - all iPads, and minimum iPhone 3GS or 3rd generation iPod touch running iOS 3.1.3 or higher). Bizzy Bear is normally priced at $3.99/ 2.49/ Euro2.99, Cinderella at $7.99/ 5.49/ Euro5.99, and The Three Little Pigs at $5.99/ 3.99/ Euro4.99. The apps have won awards from FutureBook (September 2011, FutureBook Awards, Best Children's App, Cinderella), Digital Book World (January 2012, Publishing Innovation Awards, Best Juvenile App, Cinderella), KAPi (January 2012, KAPi Awards, Children's App, Cinderella) and iLounge (November 2011, iLounge Awards, iPad Kid's App of the Year, Cinderella).
