[prMac.com] Carrollton, Texas - Home owners who wish to have any renovation plans for their homes would have to rely heavily on architects or contractors to get the drawings of their floor plans done. However, with the new app called MagicPlan by innovation company Sensopia, home owners could literally map out their entire home floor plan and dimensions with their iPhones or iPads.
This will help tremendously as it provides an actual dimensional floor plan for home owners who are planning to have the interior gallery of their homes renovated. According to The Interior Gallery, those who wish to shop for new furniture, bathroom fittings and flooring panels would have a better idea on how much space is available to ensure that their new stuff fits in properly to the rooms when they use this helpful app.
The app has been chosen as one of the finalist for the 2011 Innovator Awards and was also named as App Of The Week by Italy's popular iSpazio blog. MagicPlan is available for download from Apple's App Store for free. The software is compatible with iPhone 4, iPhone 4S, iPod touch (4th Generation), iPad2 and the new iPad as it requires the use of built-in gyroscopes. MagicPlan will need to run on the iOS 5.0 or later.
A short video on how the app works is available for viewing at Sensopia's website.
Once activated, users just need to stand in the middle of the room that they wish to measure and activate the app. All that needs to be done is to 'trace' out the edges of the entire room by taking a picture of it. The software will do the rest. Home owners do not need to worry about moving any furniture or fittings in the room as the app is smart enough to detect only the edges of the room as it measures the walls and doors of the room. Once completed it will identify and draw the shape of each room that is measured.
Users could then assemble the different rooms with their fingers as the app is very user-friendly. No architecture knowledge is required as anyone could do it. Home owners could then choose to add in photos, furniture and comments to each room plan to help them organize better. The floor plans could be saved in different file formats to be exported or emailed out.
While the free version of MagicPlan is available for private and non-commercial use, companies or professional individuals who create a lot of floor plans could choose to check out the monthly subscription rate at Sensopia's website.
