[prMac.com] Los Angeles - Byte Squared, a company specializing in Office document editing on mobile devices, today announced that it will be part of the Citrix Ready Worx Verified program. By integrating the Citrix Worx App SDK into its Office editing app, Byte Squared's users will have the ability to access and edit corporate data, without compromising the security of that information.
The Worx App SDK leverages Citrix MDX app container technology to add features like data encryption, password authentication, secure lock and wipe, inter-app policies and micro VPNs to Office2. With Citrix MDX technology, all apps and data reside in a container, separated from personal apps and data on the user's mobile device. This allows IT to set comprehensive policy-based controls such as data leakage prevention and the ability to remote lock, wipe and encrypt apps and data.
Integrating Citrix MDX technology will make it easy for enterprise IT to apply security and access policies to Office2.
"Companies want their staff to remain productive when mobile, whilst being comfortable that the data remains absolutely secure. Incorporating the Citrix Worx App SDK into Office2 lets us make this happen. We are pleased to be a Citrix Ready partner and to work closely with Citrix to extend Office2 to the new Citrix Ready Worx Verified program. As a Citrix Ready Worx Verified partner Office2 will soon be made available to over 250,000 existing Citrix enterprise customers and over 10,000 Citrix resellers on the new Citrix Worx App Gallery," said Simon Bates, CEO of Byte Squared.
"We're pleased to have Byte Squared as a launch day partner in the new Citrix Ready Worx Verified program," said Chris Fleck, Citrix VP Mobility Solutions and Alliances. "With the Worx App SDK, Office2 is now Worx-enabled and embedded with Citrix MDX technology which provides security, control and manageability and makes Office2 fully ready for the enterprise."
