[prMac.com] Singapore - Imagine that you have joined a new class and no one is connected on any common social network. But there is a need to communicate within the group for reasons. As strangers, even sharing a phone number to create a WhatsApp group takes effort and time. We all face such situations frequently.
Grouping takes the familiar message board approach to solve this tricky problem, and that too without any need for registration. It works by any one person creating a group and announcing the name to others who just join using their preferred social network. Communication starts between these unconnected people within a minute.
Grouping is enabling thousands of members to communicate for a variety of reasons. There are groups of parents communicating about their kids from the same school, companies talking to their partners, sharing of thoughts between interest groups and people creating watch groups for their neighborhoods.
"Whether you are in your college campus, your office floor, part of a packaged tour or guest of a hotel, you will have people who are not part of your social network but with a need to communicate or belong to that group. Grouping is purpose built to connect people who do not even know each other but are communicating with an objective," said Rajesh Soundararajan, co-founder of Grouping.
Unlike popular messengers of today, Grouping has done away with the age-old practice of tying the user with a telephone number. Designed ground up for mobile users, Grouping claims to bring the best together - the simplicity of Yahoo Groups, the ease of Facebook Pages and power of mobile usage like WhatsApp.
Krishna Kumar, a resident of Gurgaon, India shared his thought: "I am using Grouping for Neighborhood watch and I know my neighbors now. I had no idea who were they before I started using it. The common objective of making our street safer has definitely brought us closer."
Grouping gives flexibility to create, join, unjoin and rejoin the group to the user and takes away the cumbersome moderator led design. The service itself works on a proprietary algorithm and uses standard data networks like 2G/3G or Wi-Fi. Users do not incur any SMS charges and can form local or international groups without losing their privacy or sharing their phone numbers.
