[prMac.com] Pleasantville, New York - Artgig Apps is offering their popular kids language arts app, Shake-a-Phrase, on sale today, Friday 5/11, to celebrate the app's one year anniversary. The sale also coincides with the release of an app update, introducing the addition of all new parts of speech Quiz features. The promotion offers a great value to parents and teachers, as Shake-a-Phrase will be only 0.99 (usually $1.99) for the day.
A featured iTunes "Storytelling" Education App, Shake-a-Phrase combines physical device shaking with hilarious randomly generated sentences in a game for kids ages eight and up. But fun is only part of the appeal. The app actively engages kids in reading and building vocabulary during the course of play, while the Quiz Me game strengthens their understanding of parts of speech. A Story Starter mode gets the creative juices flowing, setting up silly scenarios and encouraging kids to imagine what happens next.
The vocabulary list of more than 2,000 words was compiled by teachers and parents, and includes a broad range of age-appropriate, interesting and entertaining words. Shake-a-Phrase offers five distinct content themes to customize learning: Starter, Animals, Monster, Fairytale and Sports.
To celebrate the one year anniversary of Shake-a-Phrase in the App Store, Artgig President Matthew Kicinski discusses the new Quiz update, "I try to respond to every bit of user feedback we receive and it's clear that educators and classrooms really enjoy the parts of speech quiz. We've consistently heard requests to expand the quiz beyond nouns, adjectives and verbs, so we've added prepositions and conjunctions to the customizable quiz options in v.1.4."
