[prMac.com] Hagenberg, Austria - For the last two years, Egger Apps has distributed their product "MDB ACCDB Viewer" exclusively as a paid app on the Mac App Store, selling to over 13000 customers. Until now, Egger Apps has relied on a thorough description and screen shots to market their app. Now they have additionally made a free trial available on their website. Customers can now convince themselves that MDB ACCDB Viewer works as advertised before making the purchase.
Mac App Store vs. Direct Sales:
MDB ACCDB Viewer is now also available for purchase directly from Egger Apps. While the Mac App store is a great way to buy software for individual users, it has some drawbacks for business customers. Therefore Egger Apps has partnered with FastSpring to sell licenses. They now offer volume discounts and VAT tax excemption for companies in the European Union.
What is MDB ACCDB Viewer?
Microsoft Access is a glaring omission in the Mac version of Microsoft Office. Access databases (ACCDB and MDB files) are ubiquitous in the Windows world. They are used for everything, ranging from personal expenses to medical databases to genealogy research. Novice Mac users are often taken by surprise when they learn that they can no longer access their data after switching to the Mac. MDB ACCDB Viewer allows them to view databases on the Mac, and to export the data for other applications such as Filemaker or Bento.
Professional users rely on MDB ACCDB Viewer to read databases they receive from clients. Others use it to work with data published by governments in the Access database format. MDB ACCDB Viewer includes a number of advanced features for specialists, such as exporting SQL dumps for MySQL and PostgreSQL databases.
MDB ACCDB Viewer 2.2.2 includes bugfixes and adds support for exporting to the newer XML based Excel format. Version 2.2.2 is available immediately from the Egger Apps website, and the update will be available soon on the Mac App Store.
