[prMac.com] Rochester, New York - Static Z Software today is pleased to announce the release and immediate availability of Sound Siphon 2.0.2, an important update to their popular audio capture application for Mac OS X. Sound Siphon makes your Mac's audio output available as an audio input device. There are some great enhancements and features for users of Sound Siphon, but the most exciting part of this release is the new Public API for third party developers.
Developers have long sought the ability to capture another Mac application's audio and today Static Z Software is making this a reality. A free download of the Public API is available at the Sound Siphon website. Developers will be able to capture Mac audio with their application using a simple API in addition to the standard Core Audio APIs that they are already familiar with. In about five minutes it is possible to add the ability to capture the Mac's audio to an audio recording app.
For users of Sound Siphon, 2.0.2 includes some nice enhancements including the ability to select Sound Siphon's output device from the menu bar, as well as an optional software volume control for output.
Pricing and Availability:
With this update Sound Siphon now provides comprehensive audio capture capability for both end users and developers. Sound Siphon is free to try and costs $39 (USD). A demo of Sound Siphon and a free download of the Sound Siphon Public API may be found at Static Z Software online.
