[prMac.com] Seoul, Korea - Green Cloud's launch of their new app iGLASSES didn't promise to revolutionize iOS device users' perception of photo editing, or increase productivity, or do anything other than give users a chance to share a smile. Based on the glowing reviews this simple photo editor has been accumulating, maybe the chance to share a good humored laugh with one's friends is exactly what App Store shoppers were seeking.
iGLASSES is a well-designed photo editing application with a simple premise. The app is used to apply virtual "eyeglasses" to users' photos. The virtual eyewear is designed with a humorous slant. The current inventory of choices (100 different pairs so far) showcase just about every type of funny pair of eyeglasses most people can imagine, and some they've probably never considered. Heart shaped glasses probably would cross most people's minds, but a pair of "glasses" featuring fried eggs as the lenses show the designers were thinking outside the box. Kathy from Washington State says, "iGLASSES gives me a laugh every day, partly because some of the glasses are so out there!"
The virtual glasses can be edited to perfect their placement on the subject's face, with precision controls allowing the user to adjust size and angle. The resulting visual joke can then be shared intimately through an email, saved as an image and sent via MMS, or even broadcast on Facebook and Twitter. With the ability to take photos on the fly, within the app, or to make use of pictures users already have saved in their iPhone or iPod touch gallery, the possibilities are limitless. One blogger notes that applying iGLASSES to each of the photos in his contact list turned out to be a great theme for his address book. "It's offbeat, silly, and it's not pretentious. It's just plain fun," he says.
