[prMac.com] Waretown, NJ - Announcing that Studio Caterpillar, the developers of ROTATOR 1.0, have released a fun, new game application for the iPhone and iPod Touch. A match-3 puzzle game, Rotator makes use of an iDevice's accelerometer to put a new, highly intriguing spin on the classic game concept. Rotate the device, and swap pieces from circle to circle to create clusters with matching colors to score points, but watch out for challenges.
Rotator uses the accelerometer to create a new, unique version of the classic favorite, match-3. When the iDevice is rotated, the app's beautifully colored circles will then spin accordingly to match the rotation. The circles are made of six pie pieces, and initially each piece can be either yellow, red, green, or blue in color. Players will soon discover other possible colors as they play along.
The objective of ROTATOR is to move the pie-pieces around to get three of the same color within a circle (side by side in a cluster). This is accomplished with finger swipes, which will swap two pieces and make them jump to, and from a neighboring circle. Bonus points are awarded for getting matches of four or five colors.
To add even more variety to the game, the developers have included an extra challenge. Players can unlock a secret story by arranging special white puzzle pieces to complete a picture. While there is no timer in the ROTATOR, if a player goes beyond a certain number of moves, the game becomes more difficult. When there are no more possible matches to be made, the game is over.
