[prMac.com] Ottawa, Canada - GlitchSoft has announced that Apple has approved Destructopus, their highly anticipated side scrolling destruct-em-up arcade game. In Destructopus, players rampage as a colossal sea monster on a destructive mission to stop environmental degradation and pollution.
In game, users play as the mighty Destructopus. Towering over buildings and trees, the Destructopus is a powerful beast from the sea that cares deeply for the natural environment. Enraged at the treatment of the Earth, The Destructopus rampages to stop further environmental degradation. Throughout the game, players can expect a healthy dose of satire and lighthearted pokes at society for environmental apathy.
The environmental issues Destructopus highlights are no laughing matter, and yet the game features several hilarious undertones. Rob, a team member at GlitchSoft, explains that "The creative and design teams at GlitchSoft wanted the game to do two things, one deliver a positive social message, and two be a total riot. Thus we decided to poke a bit of fun at the state of the environment and allow players to take out their frustrations on mega corporations and deforestation units and polluters alike. If Destructopus ignites a spark in some of its players to do more to conserve the environment, we would be pretty happy with that."
World changing goals aside, GlitchSoft has a great looking, and super fun iPhone game at the ready and the team reports they are excited about its upcoming release.
Journalists and press who are interested in more information or a hands on preview of the game before it goes live on the iTunes App Store are encouraged to contact GlitchSoft.
